Info for Secondwinds kite event in Windsor Ca.

I am doing an event at the Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic, June 28 & 29 (in Windsor, at Kaiser Park) this year.  By "doing" I mean I will have a booth selling kites & windtoys, as well as putting up an aerial display to entertain the crowds after the balloons take off and before they return. and will have a booth selling kites & windtoys.

 My special guest is David Gomberg (who you know very well) and he is putting up three of his large kites, & I would like to invite the members of the NCKC to come as well as to show off their kites to folks who may never have been to a kite festival.  (My thought is that they are already used to looking up at Hot Air Balloons - so let's give them something to look at that they could potentially "fly" themselves!)    I appreciate David's support of my new venture, and I think it is great to have him in Sonoma County as well.  I would love it if you and the other members of the NCKC would join us.

 I think there is a nominal admission fee($5.00) which goes to the charity the Classic has chosen this year.  (The Hot Air Balloon Classic is a fundraiser each year for not-for-profit events).

 We will have a flying field set up and of course, it is always fun to hang out with and have an opportunity to fly with other kite enthusiasts.  I am debuting one of my favorite kites:  "The Spirit of Sonoma County", a 19' patriotic delta with a lot of red white and blue line laundry.  I also will be flying an 8' Pink Flamingo, a 150' Dragon, a pair of legs and who knows what else I can pull out of my kite bags -- in addition to Gomberg's Big Kites (he is bringing three of them) -- it should be lots of fun!

 The Hot Air Balloon portion of the event starts at 4:30 a.m. with the Dawn Patrol, and the hot air balloons begin their flight and go up until 9:30 or 10.  whenever we get the go ahead from the organizers (and counting on wind, of course!) we will begin putting up our kites.  I sure hope you can join us!
