The No Politics - No Whiners Kitemaking Workshop Series |

| I've been working since
January of 99 on organizing kitemaking workshops in the
San Francisco Area. I decided that it might be easier to
do it without any affiliation to one of the great kite
organizations here in the Bay Area. Partly to avoid the
"Us and Them" and "what's in it for us" thing that often happens between
groups (nothing personal).
I asked friend and accomplished kitemaker Tim Helwig if he wanted to be a part of this effort.....Tim was glad to join up with me and together we started putting our first workshop together So what is in it for us? We are doing this totally voluntarily and the cost will cover the materials, the location, the talent (workshop presenter), some coffee and doughnuts and no more! We plan to present a series of workshops with increasing skill levels so as to bring participants up to the skill level to participate in workshops with "Master" kite designers who are displaying advanced techniques. There will be two classes conducted at the same time to interest a wider group. Our plan is to provide two workshops during the year, perhaps in the spring and fall. So there you have it... the writing is on the wall. After our first two successful workshops Tim's life got too hectic and he felt he had to cut out some activities and left the NPNW team......BUT don't worry I will continue !
