2003 Point Arena Lighthouse Road Trip

The gazebo area...What do ya think Danny, can ya see your gecko corraled in there??

A look up from the bottom.

What it looks like inside the lighthouse tower. Debbie takeing a break at one of the many landings.

A shot of the grounds from the lens house on top of the tower.

The keeepers houses and the grounds from the tower.

Another view of the grounds.

There it is! My octopus flying from the top of a lighthouse!

Another shot of my octopus flying from the top of a lighthouse!

That Buldge near the top is a balcony that you can go out on its about 4 feet wide, and I felt quite safe out on it.

It was a bit tough getting the pilot and kite to fly BEHIND the tower as the wind swirled from both directions around the tower.

I tied a line around the railing of the lens houseand let out a couple hundred feet of line and launched the pilot far away from the tower.

Once they were both flying good I pulled the octo back in as close to the tower as I could without the tower "effect"

disturbing the flight and tied it off!

Here is a shot of me with a huge giggle on my face!

The view from that balcony is unreal!

I took a few shots from the other side of the tower. I like this one, the odtopus looks real close to the tower from this angle.

And another.

And a shot from down by the "keepers" houses.

Another shot from down by the houses. the yard behind the houses is huge! Lots of room for kites!

There is an out cropping of land that has a gazebo on it I took this shot from there.

And this one...got a good wave!!

The building in the photo is the fog horn building, it houses a large generator and 2 big air compressors. The compressed air was used to blow the

fog horns... there is a cool museum there now as well.

My manta flying in the gazebo area.

Manta again.

Debbie hooking up a kite in the huge area behind the houses.

This shows the manta in the gazebo area.

Manta looks like its in a corral!

When the wind died down at the end of the day the poor octopus looked pretty pitiful hanging there! I did fly nicely ALL afternoon tho!

Here it comes!! I lowered it down to Deb.

Almost down!

Between the two of us, we had about a dozen kites up scattered all over the grounds.

I took this shot from up on the balcony of the light house.
