This Summer on the west coast Has been crazy busy, in fact I barely have time to sit and write this before I blast of to Mesquite Nevada. Mesquite is on the Nevada/Utah border, there is a guy there that’s dieing to put on a kitefestival at his Casino resort. He comping me a couple days just to come talk to him about it.... So what do ya say Nevada /Utah locals wanna see an event un the neighborhood? What would a be a good time of year to do it....Im thinking NOT in the summer heat!! More on this soon!

I attended the southern Oregon kitefest in Brookings again this year and as usual had a blast, the organizers take special care of us while we are there. This year was no exception... AND I receive the kite I won during kite month, Ron and Sandy Gibian made and donated the kite and presented it to me in Brookings. See photo. Now ya gotta know IM not exactly the luckiest guy around, but I did win this kite, so next summer when ya hear all the talk about NKM register an event...that’s all ya gotta do!!!

Berkeley’s new date worked out great, the event went smooth and was well attended..and attended by 10 octopus and a crazy zoo of other huge inflatable kites. The crowds seemed to be as big as ever . The event culminated with the bay cruise and silent auction on San Francisco bay.

Thanks to all the volunteers that made it happen, you guys never get enough thanks!

BASKL has finished its 10 year of presenting league style competitions in the bay Area. I was one of the founders way long ago and we had no idea it would last this long AND be this successful, Over the years we’ve had many bod members who worked hard and dedicated weekends to make baskl happen... A huge thanks to all of you from a sport kite competitor!

The Point Arena kitefest I spoke about in the last issue happened with grand style , What a glorious place to fly a kite with the ocean on 3 sides of this private peninsula, the winds are the kind ya dream about and the accommodations are great as was the food and friends, thanks to all that attended. See ya all again next year!
