Bullhead City,Arizona
2003

Dan Whitney and I decided to accept the invitation to attend the bullhead event this year. Bullhead is the offspring of the no longer AVI festival.
the Avi fest was always great fun and this was organized by Kathy Plummer as well so Off we went too check it out. Bullhead took a good 10 hours drive, counting the stop off at Ron Gibians in Visalia . We checked out his business and took him to lunch  and I picked up a new toy from Ron, more on that later.
we arrived at the Laughlin Ramada Hotel/casino, Sponsor  of the event. Played a few slots and overate at the prime rib buffet and off to bed .
We were both surprised to wake up to wind, lots of wind, a fast breakfast and we were off to find the park across the river in Bullhead Arizona.
The Park was right on the Colorado river and was a beautiful place to play for sure, tho the sand was quite dirty and there were several obstacles to enhance the fun!
It was HOT both days, over 100 degrees, the sun kept most kiters ducking under the many metal roofed shade obstacles ,kiters included Kathy Plummer and Rusty, Ed and Gail Lindsay, Paul and Doreen Imbach, Sam Huston, Johnny  Gina and Michelle Hsiung , Basir and his family, Steve Bateman, Charlie and Joanne M'clary and all the way from Kansas, Jug Buckles ( sorry Jug, I didn't mean to steal your hammer) and a good dozen others I cant name! Also going on at the same time was a western days festival, arts and crafts food and lots of music!

Lets get on to the pictures!

On the way back to "our place" we decided to tour the local Dam. Davis Dam is just above Laughlin, its a large earthen dam with a 5 turbine  hydro electric power plant. Homeland security has stopped tours inside it was pretty quiet up there. Lake Mead was created by the dam and is some hundred miles of recreation lake. a few photos below
