We drove up the hill from the beach near fort Kronkite and parked near this medow...I took this shot looking back at the bridge

and another from a few hundred yards farther

this hilside is litered with these "bunkers" and huge gun casements this tunnel has huge steek doors in its sides that lead to the underground bunkers

one of the huge guns stood here and could shoot huge shells way out to sea, or anywhere in the entrance to SF Bay

across the valley you can see another twin gun site. this one right on the bluff above the ocean

this site had living quarters under neath the big guns, these guns gould drop out of site.

We decided to go ck out the point Bonita light house...this guy was checking us out as we walked down the path to the lighthouse

Down a path maybe a 20 minute walk down a windy path ya come to this tunnel entrance, tunnel right thru solid rock.... red moss or lichen on the rock

inside the small obviously hand dug tunnel...the flash made it look white

and a few minutes more ya cross a bridge and the lighthouse comes into view

There once was a keepers house right there at the end of the bridge

a sunspension bridge has been in use since a landslide seperated the lighthouse from the the path

cool Gargoyle water scuppers on the roof..neat little light house, one of the few still being used for Navigation
